Title: Better Than Fine

Smoke swirl in perfect synchrony, a waltz of ash and heat staining the stark, indigo sky. Yoochun could hear the faint bustling of the passing cars down below as he blows out a lungful of smoke.

He thinks if he could teleport to anywhere inside Japan at this very moment, he’d go to an onsen, steamy in hot, soothing perfection. He could only imagine what it’ll do to his aching muscles as he sinks deep, barely giving room to breathe-

“What are you doing out here?” Jaejoong asks, startling the life out of Yoochun as he pokes his head out the small gap in the open balcony door.

“Oh, just taking a drag. Meditating…” Yoochun answers looking back at the bright colored lights painting the city.

Jaejoong steps outside, stopping just beside him, far enough to be subtle, close enough for their elbows to touch. He lights up his own stick and inhales, “Then I hope you don’t mind me meditating with you.”

Yoochun smiles a reply, heart beating irregularly, “As if me minding ever stopped you.”

“Point taken.” They take a drag at the same time.

Yoochun thinks that maybe, just maybe, here is fine. Maybe, better than fine.
