Impatience is what seventeen year olds constantly feel when they look in the mirror, examining all the many imperfections on their faces. Changmin knows he’s going to have no future; the world is going to end if he still looks cute and adorable at the age of twenty-one.

Jaejoong is the one he looks up to and envies half the time. The oldest hyung knows this even more because Changmin finds himself the recipient of soft toys and men’s perfume. Mixed messages are annoying. He asks Jaejoong in a fit of temper, what exactly are you trying to imply?

Just be who you are, Jaejoong says softly. Don’t force yourself to grow up too fast.

He imagines his hyung sitting in a mess of bright blue paper and cello-tape, tongue stuck out in concentration and trying to do his best, despite his clumsy fingers, trying to mean what he’s doing.

Changmin takes the hint and ‘beats’ up Junsu when he drops his I-pod in the sink, whines at Yoochun to go eating out with him, alternates between cute and namja around Yunho to manipulate the poor man into doing what magnae wants and Jaejoong-

Jaejoong just smiles knowingly at him.
