t's secret and brief, cut short because the world is in turmoil and they're smack-dab in the middle. it’s a kiss to a temple, a caress to a shaky hand. it’s unsteady breaths as they try to blend into each other; become one, like they used to be. it doesn’t matter that tomorrow will have them in different countries, torn apart again. this is now and that’s all that really counts. it’s promises that might not be held, but it’s enough to get them through until the next time they can steal a moment for just the two of them.
