pairing jaejoong/yoochun
it's two in the morning and jaejoong can't sleep knowing he's the subject of some twisted sense of humor.
those set of keys that used to hold his heart together is now a silent, unmoving piece of worthlessness as it rejoices with stoicism at jaejoong's late night melancholic reminiscing. he leaves the warm confines of his bed, daring a hand atop the mahogany surface of the seemingly sturdy frame with definite caution. his fingers inches towards the once-ivory set of foursquare keys that are now stained yellow, running across them in a roundabout manner but never placing more pressure than what his heart would like.
an experimental tickle and it incites not only a reverberation of a sharp g across the room, but also a piece of composition filling the newly empty spaces in jaejoong's heart. soft melodies, playful and deep in ways more than one, lyrics holding too much of a commitment than jaejoong could even dare and a raspy, honey-velvet singing that had a rumble to it from excessive abuse of nicotine.
can't you just come back, he says quietly.
epilogue:
you came back, jaejoong breathes, lungs deprived from an impromptu sprint after a quiet, hesitant knock on the door at three-something in the morning.
yoochun remains silent, hands shoved deep in his jeans pockets, eyes flickering between jaejoong's and a small smile tugs at his lips. he shrugs, we're soulmates remember?
