You don’t need him. The chant that gets you to sleep every night. The prayer you whisper to a god in which you don’t believe. A twisted lie that has slowly but surely become your only truth.
You don’t need him. You make your own food. You burn your hands and pride. You decide it tastes like shit, but pile it into your mouth anyway.
You don’t need him. You push him away when you trip at rehearsals. Ignore the hurt in his eyes. You’re falling and his smile is making you sick.
