Summary: Jaejoong sees Thailand.
Jaejoong hasn’t seen Thailand, really seen it, until now. He came for the shooting of “O” with locks dyed blond and swept back, visited a beautiful wide courtyard, where city pigeons that looked exactly like their cousins in Seoul could be bribed to come a little closer with rice. As Dong Bang Shin Ki, they’d stopped over during their Asia Tour, the fluorescent plastic of the airport in Thailand the same as any other, except the voice over the intercom spoke in singing tones and rounded stops instead of familiar Korean or the dotted vowels of Japanese.
“Gorgeous, isn’t it?!” Yoochun shouts over the roar of the automobile. Changmin and Yunho are play-fighting and Junsu is the perfect stoic driver, city lights throwing the jut of his jaw in chiaroscuro. The air is sweet and they’re going a little too fast. Yoochun slings his sunglasses off into the wind and someone on the street curses them when it lands too near his feet, but then the man in plaid becomes just another lamppost, a marker of something they’ve already zoomed passed.
“I’m flying,” Jaejoong thinks, but all he does is laugh, throwing his arms out like a strange bird taking flight, nearly knocking Yoochun’s head in the process.
“Hey, watch out!”
Sweet hot air, a cool summer night with only the edge of it softened down. And when Jaejoong wakes alone in his new apartment, Thailand is a road, a long beautiful road with five passengers traveling down it together.
