The next fan stepped up to the table in front of Jaejoong, and he waited for her to place something before him to sign. He glanced up and froze, his eyes meeting those of the girl after she bowed her head. She smiled at him softly, calmly, and handed him a small paper.

            Jaejoong looked to his right to see Yoochun and Junsu both watching curiously.

            Jaejoong finished reading at the same time Yoochun and Changmin did. He looked back up at the girl. A guard spoke to her but she didn’t respond until he tapped her shoulder. She bowed, turning to look at the five men before her.

 

            Saranghaeyo, she mouthed. And with a deep bow to all five, she left.

 

            Jaejoong looked at Changmin, a suspicion tingling.

           

            “Was she…?”

 

            “She was deaf,” the youngest said in sorrowful amazement.
