Title: Only In-betweens
Author: Kerri (
silhouettedwing @
forthcomings)
Word Count: 150
Concrit?: Hit me.
Pairing: JaeChun.
Rating: PG?
Summary: There aren't any happy endings, only in-betweens.
Author's Note: Disjointed, weird and generally deviating a lot from my usual style. Un-beta-ed. Enjoy though?
He whispers in my ear, “Chunnie… are you ever afraid of what you are?”
His eyes are staring deeply into my own, as if trying to read the conflicting emotions that gather beneath the glass-like surface, trying to see a future that not even I want to know.
I realize that it’s similar to being on an iceberg. The edges break off, floating away; crashing into the sea. But will I?
I will drown.
I don’t answer his question. I know it’s rude, but he expects it, realizing that the question probably hit a little too close to home. I don’t tell anyone anything, because once they learn one thing, they unravel the threads to find out the rest.
I leave him, sitting on the sofa in silence; as I pick up the pieces no one wants, applying glue that never lasts long.
There are no happy endings, only in-betweens.

Date: 2008-04-11 03:18 pm (UTC)Oh crack, additive crack, I finally get why its called crack.

Attempting those simple questions from A. Math must have seriously fried my brain. On the other hand, I did complete my history assignment, so I wasn't slacking. *cough*
