summary: changmin sees dead people.

shh, he'll be back. he's going to come back, yoochun whispers into changmin's big ear. it's huge, not proportion to his head and if he and changmin would part ways he'll know it's changmin when he sees those ears. changmin on the other hand, sobs harder and yoochun tries to coo his friend.

friend, yoochun thinks and his heart aches a little. pathetic, he also thinks and goes back to comforting his friend. fingers running through his unruly hair that doesn't bother to fucking shower but yoochun doesn't mind, to him changmin will always be immaculate no matter how dirty or repulsive not showering sounds like to him. changmin's perfect in his eyes.

"he's been gone for a few days now, yoochun. i'm worried he's never going to come back, i'm not ready. you know i'm not ready," changmin says in between his ugly sobbing and tall crushed frame in yoochun's arms and damp chest. his breathing erratic, chest heaving up and down but he is not aware of it.

"you believe me right? you believe me when i say he's real?" yoochun hears the pleading tone in his friends voice, changmin is pathetic as well.

"of course he is. he's real," yoochun assures him, even though he thinks he's losing it. it's obvious that changmin is still grieving, still mourning yunho's death not too long ago. horrible car crash accident while on his way to gwangju for his sister's wedding. how time flies, yoochun thinks he can remember when jihye was just a little baby girl and now she's married.

changmin is asleep by now, yoochun's musings still left unattended while cares for changmin's lithe body. he's lost weight, yoochun looks at his friend, his love, his unrequited fucking love for seven fucking years. he's not glad that yunho's died, he wouldn't wish that on yunho even if he's loved changmin, no. yunho's perfect, perfect friend, perfect boyfriend. yoochun is actually happy with changmin's choice.

but yunho has to let changmin go just like how changmin should let yunho go.

sometimes yoochun wants to live in changmin's brain where everything is okay. where yunho is alive and they are happy and he can go back to love changmin from afar. at least he's happy, he thinks.

and when yoochun wakes up, changmin's left a note saying yunho is already "back" and he's got to go. the note has a smiley face. yoochun goes back to being pathetic and it's a cycle. never ending cycle.

this is their reality.
